Yipee Ahy Yay

She arrived after midnight...entering the pub with her long curly hair. Everyone turned around except me. No way was I looking at this dame again. She broke my heart once and I aint havin' that again. I could hear the murmur of the patrons as she downed shot after shot of tequila.

I awoke from what seemed like a nap. Although I don't recall naps invlolving ropes. My wrists ached and pulsated. These two dames were sitting in front of me. As sex crazed as I was, I had to shut my eyes and resist their temptation. Blood began to pour down my forehead. I was injured. Who are these girls and what do they want with me?
I was about to find out.

Abigail and Misty. Two of the finest librarians in the West.

She looked at me and smiled....as if she enjoyed knocking me down with the butt of her rifle. This girl was strong and confident. I've never seen concentration like she had....so focused and clear. Will we ever survive this dry desert together? I sure hope so.

It's alive...

I glance over the figure drawing model and see a better subject: Alex . And so ....I draw.

Waiting for the movies in Burbank. I spot a homeless man. What do I have to draw on? Nothing. Wait. In my back pocket. Ah yes, my paycheck envelope. Thank god for paychecks.

Long phone conversation. Who it's with? I have no idea. Must keep moving to stay alive. Pen, paper....success.

Dave Pimentel lecturing. I stare at that goatee...and then back up at the thick glasses. My hand starts moving and then...a turtle Dave is born.

Little boy Billy and His Trusty Whale

A sea adventure begins

#5!! #5!!!

Pixar released the first image of their character for a film called WALL.E.
Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) is directing.
Looks pretty cute. Could these two be related??

Johnny 5

Ha! A Coke Ad!!

This is how I animate at work. I have to get inside the computer (through the back) and work my way to the models. Then I control them with wires and voice commands. Sometimes I get electrocuted..but then I call a T.D. over (technical director) and they spray me down with a fire extinguisher. Some days are rougher than others.

These images were taken from a cool website called www.johnny-five.com
Check it out!

Last of the Cowboys

Curious.

Drunk.

Here we have Steven Macleod (www.clockroom.blogspot.com) and Erik Fountain waiting for food at the 24 hour Denny's in Valencia. It's one of the best places to hash out story ideas. Plus, they provide you with endless amounts of coffee.

Food for thought. Erik's thinking really hard about ordering "moons over my hammy".

Here's Morgan Kelly ( www.morgankelly.blogspot.com) telling me a story in his office at work. Drawn on napkin. If you ever need help telling a story..just ask Morgan and I to help. We'll help you with the setup, the twist, and the payoff. We're big on details. So if you're telling us a story about your trip to the beach...and you fail to include the drive there, the weather, the type of air texture, and the clothing you are wearing....well, you need help, story help that is . Paint me a picture...it's the best way to tell stories.

doggy do..

woof...

I've been trying to draw hands better. I have a color copy of Milt Kahl's disney hands and I tried to replicate them. No tracing here, just pure observation. It was quite a challenge but I think I did pretty good. No?

These are Milt Kahl's drawing of hands.

Drawing arrival

Happy New Year compooter land!
Hello out there! Anyone still visiting this blog? I'm still alive...I swear. I've got so much to show you boys and girls it's silly! I've even got Over the Hedge thumbnails to post....get ready for those. It's gonna be an exciting 2007! Oh boy oh boy.
First up!
These cowboy drawings are from Dave Pimentel's life drawing class at work. So much fun...I can't even describe it. See for yourself.

These ladies are from a life drawing event held in downtown LA from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m every tuesday night. I showed up at 1 a.m. the day after Christmas and stayed for an hour. There were about 30-40 artists there drawing, painting, and sketching. The atmosphere is great.
